Moelfre Approach

Picture

Ynys Moelfre may be  passed close-to (but not to landward). Anchor between moorings and LB slip in 3 m. From Puffin Sound, steer 290°T, until LB House is  sighted.

Dangers

 None in approaches.
Sewer outfall traverses rocky outcrop close to pipe outfall of stream in NW  corner of shingle beach, and in the most attractive-looking anchoring position!  Dries!!

Outer limit occasionally marked by G. Con. Buoy.

Rocks near disused  LB House extend 50 m. then are steep-to.

Shelter

From south through  west to north. Uncomfortable swell with winds from WNW northwards. Very exposed  to north-east. Good holding on mud in 3m. Shelving, stone  beach.
