Traeth Bychan is an excellent spot for all kinds of boating and water sport activities. There are good parking facilities with the car park recently having been enlarged and re-surfaced. There is a charge of £5 (TBC) for the whole day during the holiday season. You will also find toilet facilities adjacent to the area.
The beach front has been enhanced with a new sea wall and picnic benches where you can enjoy panoramic views of the Great Orme and Liverpool Bay, Puffin Island, and behind the heights of Llanddona and on the mainland, the Carneddau peaks.
There is a slip way for launcing boats which is controlled by the local council (see harbour information for charges and requirements). This can get very busy during the summer particularly at high tide.
On the front you will also find the club house for Red Wharf bay sailing club. They run all types of events from Sailing training to one of the country's premier long distance dinghy races, the Anglesey Offshore Dinghy Race.
Just 25 metres or so from the beach as you go up the lane is Traeth Bychan beach cafe which sells all sorts of water sports equipment, cold and hot drinks, ice creams and snacks. It is open daily between the hours of 8am and 6pm so if you fancy a bacon buttie and a brew .... check out Traeth Bychan Cafe
