The Mackerel have arrived in their thousands but the vast majority of them are far too small for keeping. I was off the side of the island Friday evening and gave up fishing with feathers for the sheer volume of small fish I was catching. They were right next to the surface and I could see them come up to chase the feathers as soon as I put them in the water. This was the same near the cliffs between Traeth and Benllech although I had reports of some larger ones caught there.
Ten of H M Coastguard's Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centres are under threat of closure and Holyhead Coastguard station is one of them. If you want to support the campaign to stop this from happening just follow the SOS link under Harbour Information - Coastguard. Thanks
Welcome to the Traeth Bychan Harbour chat page.
Feel free to leave general comments about boating in the general area. I'd love to hear boating tips, are the fish biting and where, recent trips, items for sale, etc. I can't guarantee an immediate response but I wll do my best, and please note, any general issues you have should be channelled through the normal route and not via this web site. |
